About the Artist

Kelly Halbach
Award-winning artist Kelly Halbach draws inspiration from her Gulf Coast environs. This versatile painter has been recognized in many juried shows, and her work is currently featured in galleries throughout Houston and the Gulf Coast, including Galveston.
Through the years, her extensive travels - safaris in South Africa, months in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, and trekking through New Mexico, and the southwest U.S. - inspired her. Today, her paintings reflect the richness of these varied cultures and places.
Now living on the Gulf Coast of Texas, Kelly is inspired by the gorgeous shorebirds and scenery found on its coastline and birding trails, which she brings to life on paper and canvas. While she enjoys painting in oils, she believes that watercolors best capture the softness created by the hazy sunlight on the shores. Her works featuring ocean life, including water birds, lighthouses, corals, shells and fish, have been well received.
Her contemporary and abstract paintings have also garnered attention and awards. Her colorful artwork includes a cocktail series and whimsical Santas. Butler Longhorn cattle, on display at the Butler Longhorn Museum, add to the diversity of her extensive collection.
Kelly’s training include classes and private instruction in Washington D.C. She lives and paints in her gallery in Nassau Bay, Texas, just south of Houston. To see her artwork in person, call her for an appointment at 281-543-0083.
